New Way of Life Blairsville is a licensed halfway house for justice involved men who are looking for a stable recovery program during their transition from inpatient treatment and/or incarceration to independent living.

Treatment Includes

  • Cognitive Behavioral/Motivational Enhancement techniques, rooted in a 12-step recovery model to support long term behavior change
  • Group therapy curriculums address criminal thinking, relapse prevention skills, substance abuse education, healthy supports and relationships, communication skills and prosocial behaviors
  • Family therapy sessions are welcomed and encouraged for best treatment outcomes. Days/hours vary based on availability
  • Home-like recovery environment using a three-phase program, allowing for increased independence and employment while prioritizing sustained sobriety
  • Use of Trac9, a weekly evidence-based assessment to monitor progress and help direct treatment

Life Skills Education

  • Curriculum is designed to teach skills and build on strengths for long term recovery and successful transition into the community
  • Staff includes a full-time Life Skills Coordinator, Case Manager and CRS (Certified Recovery Specialist)
  • Workforce Development classes to teach residents how to gain and sustain employment. Facility partners with local employers to facilitate job placement
  • Money Management to learn how to budget finances
  • Learning to communicate in a healthy way with family, children and peers. Parenting classes available if appropriate
  • Peer supports both in and out of the program
