Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy
Firetree's employees are its most valuable assets. This Drug- and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy is intended to promote and ensure a drug- and alcohol-free workplace consistent with the requirements imposed by the federal Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
Firetree recognizes that employee involvement with drugs and alcohol can be extremely disruptive and harmful to the workplace, as well as to all affected employees. Drug and/or alcohol abuse can adversely affect the quality of work and the performance of employees, pose serious safety and health risks to the user and others, and have a negative impact on work efficiency and productivity.
All sampling and testing will be conducted by an independent, third-party laboratory.
Employees who inform the company of a drug- or alcohol-abuse problem before being instructed to undergo testing will be permitted to take a leave of absence of up to 12 weeks while they seek treatment. Employees utilizing this "safe harbor" will be entitled to return to the same or a similar position following the successful completion of their treatment.

Strategic Plan
Firetree is committed to the belief that clients are responsible for their own choices and behaviors and that change is possible through acceptance of personal responsibility and accountability. Whether it is a criminal justice program geared towards reentry into society, or a residential treatment service within in a therapeutic community, Firetree offers a multitude of services targeted to help those suffering. Through progressive programs and with the help from dedicated staff, Firetree is devoted to change the thought process and behavior of their clients with the goal of maintaining sobriety and providing them the skills needed to successfully re-enter society.
Workplace Violence
It is Firetree. Ltd.'s goal to maintain a work environment free from intimidation, threats or violent acts and we have adopted a zero tolerance policy regarding violence in the workplace. This includes, but is not limited to, intimidating, threatening, or hostile behaviors; physical abuse; vandalism; arson; sabotage; use of weapons; carrying weapons of any kind onto any Firetree, Ltd. property; or any other act, which, in management's opinion, is inappropriate to the workplace.
Employees who feel they have been subjected to any of the behaviors listed above are requested to immediately report the incident to their Supervisor or the Human Resources Director. Complaints will be fully investigated. Based upon the results, disciplinary action will be taken against the offender, if appropriate.
Employees who observe or have knowledge of any violation of this policy should immediately report it to Firetree, Ltd. management. We will take action when unforeseen events transpire and look to employees for support of this policy. Employees are empowered to contact the proper law enforcement authorities without first informing management if they believe a threat to the safety of others exists.
Firetree, Ltd. reserves the right to conduct searches and inspections of employees, employees' personal belongings, or company-provided materials such as lunch pails, boxes, thermoses, purses, lockers, desks, personal computer files, cabinets, file drawers, packages, or vehicles without notice. Any illegal and unauthorized articles discovered may be taken into custody and may be turned over to law enforcement representatives. Any Firetree, Ltd. employee who refuses to submit to a search or are found to have possession of prohibited articles will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Zero Tolerance
Firetree, Ltd. maintains zero tolerance towards all forms of institutional and community-based sexual abuse and harassment. Measures have been developed and implemented in order to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse and sexual harassment conduct. This policy is applicable to the governing body, all facility employees, all residents under facility supervision, volunteers, contractors, interns, visitors, and to all those individuals and groups that conduct business with or use resources of the company.
